Back from the Blue Morpho Jungle Camp Sept 1

YES!!!  I just finished the most awesome Ayahuasca tour ever.  I was at Blue Morpho Shamanic Center near Iquitos, Peru for a 12-day 10-ceremony camp, deep in the Amazon jungle.  For healing and transformation it is the place to be.

I want to show you around the camp which is very beautiful.  The grounds around the buildings are well cared for but 20 feet from the buildings you find the beautiful rainforrest.
.

Even now, their winter flowers are lovely.

This is the main house where we take meals, gather for meetings and just hang out.

An area between the buildings.

I like these flowers, they are like yellow torches.

This is a shot inside the ceremony house.  I didn't get a clear shot of it out side as it is pretty large.
All guests are given a cup of water, roll of toilet paper and a vomit bucket at their place in the ceremony room.  Each guest has either a mat for the floor or a chair.

It is circular and the roof is a high peak.  It is constructed without a center beam for support.  You can see a support post here because of the weight of people in the hammocks.  That post is not there for ceremonies.

Looking up towards the peak.

These chairs are used everywhere, in the bungalows, the ceremony house and the main house.  They are very comfortable.
.

Here one of the guests is lounging in one of the chairs in her bungalow.  It is always hot here and the buildings all have open sides covered with screen.

This is the net around my bed, a mattress on the floor, which is a total enclosure which keeps you safe from any bugs  or critters.

An archway over the brick path leading to the bungalows.
A view of the grounds from beside the main house.

Looking toward the cookhouse where the Ayahuasca is made.

Ayahuasca vine climbing up a tree.

Here some guests are pounding the Ayahuasca vines to prepare them for cooking.

These guests are scraping the outer bark off the Sanango roots which are also used in the brew.

Here are the vats of Ahahuasca being boiled on a long firepit.

There are marked hiking trails going into the jungle.

There are many georgeous butterflies including the Blue Morpho.

Loading the bus to head back to Iquitos.

Many of us hung out together in Iquitos for a couple of days when we returned before everyone finally departed.  It was nice to have that time to relax while we finished absorbing the events of the week.

It is already Sept 4th and I have travelled two cities away from Iquitos already.  Those stories for another day.
