The old travel blog was full so I am setting up a new one.
The old one had over 200 entries and lots of pictures. You can go see it at http://www.notesfromawanderingtraveller.blogspot.com/
I didn't like the pink at first but it is bright and cheery and it kinda grows on you.
So I am hanging out in Iquitos, a town deep in the jungle of Peru, and creating a new blog is one of my projects here.
I don't really like Iquitos. It is hot and not that nice but is a perfect window on life in Peru. I am here for an Intensive Shamanic Camp at Blue Morpho Tours which starts in a few days. More on that later.
My last long trip was to Asia and I managed to travel to all the countries in the Lonely Planet guidebook on SE Asia except East Timor. That trip was 6 and a half months, starting in Australia and ending in France. I have a blog post for almost every day of the trip although in a couple of cases I had to save the entries up until I was able to get Internet access. I have to confess that I loved the process of daily blogging. It helped me get names and facts straight so I could post them correctly and now I have an excellent record of my trip. Well worth doing, if you are considering it.
I carried a mini computer (size 5x7 I think) and found the internet service to be excellent most of the time.
Well, here in Peru the service is pretty good in the middle of the night but their service is not large enough to take the use it gets during the day and is very slow if it works at all.
The trip after Asia was a short one to Newfoundland in Canada. It is on the old blog also.
This blog will start shortly with Peru and other parts of South America.
